It’s absolutely amazing that we have so many volunteer litter pickers in Skelmersdale. It’s brilliant to see that lots of local residents want to take a bit of pride in our local area and give the council a helping hand.
It’s really important to know that Health & Safety laws say that litter pickers should not be on roads or grass verges where the speed limit is 40mph or more though.
Its putting them and other read users in danger.
The council must cone off any road where the speed limit is 40mph or higher before litter picking can take place so please be careful.
